FAQ

Stroller Strides

What is Stroller Strides?

Stroller Strides is a total-body fitness program, designed for moms with their little ones. Each class is taught by a certified fitness instructor, and is 60 minutes and combines power walking or jogging with strength and toning intervals, along with songs and activities to keep the kiddos entertained. We work to provide you with a fun and challenging workout, but each class is also designed to offer options and modifications to fit your fitness level, whether you're new to fitness or you're already running laps around Greenlake with your stroller.

What do I bring?

Yourself, dressed in comfortable clothing to work out in

Your baby, in a sturdy stroller (it doesn't need to be a jogging stroller)

A yoga mat or towel, for abs and stretching

Water

Snacks for your little one

Anything else you may need to keep your little one entertained

I just had a baby, when can I start?

With any new workout regime, you should get doctor's approval. Typically postpartum moms get the okay to work out at after 6 weeks. If you have any questions we encourage you to call your healthcare provider.

What do I do if my baby cries during class?

That's okay! Sometimes babies cry, but you'll be in a group full of moms with their kids - we've all been there and we all get it. You're always able to do what you need to do to take care of your little one, and of course we try to keep things moving so that the kids are happy and entertained.

I've registered for classes at University Village, can I attend at Greenlake too?

With a monthly membership or a class pass with Stroller Strides of Seattle, you're welcome to attend classes at any of the locations within the group.

Where are your classes held?

During the warm months, our classes are held outdoors (rain or shine) at Greenlake Bathhouse Theater on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and at University Village Tuesdays and Thursdays. At University Village we meet in front of the Jamba Juice.

During the cold months, our classes are held at the Wallingford Boys and Girls Club Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and University Village Tuesdays and Thursdays. If the Wallingford Boys and Girls Club happens to be closed for business during our class time, the moms are still able to use the back door to the club.

What is your schedule?

Mondays: 9:40-10:40 at Wallingford Boys and Girls Club

Tuesdays: 9:00-10:00 at University Village

Wednesdays: 9:40-10:40 at Wallingford Boys and Girls Club

Thursdays: 9:00-10:00 at University Village

Fridays: 9:40-10:40 at Wallingford Boys and Girls Club

Saturdays: 9:00-10:00 at Greenlake Bathhouse Theater *** Saturday Stroller Strides needs at least one RSVP to run

I really like Stroller Strides, but I wish it was at (blank) park!

If you have a class time or location that you're dying to see on the schedule, let me know! We add different times and locations based on demand.

What do you do if it's raining?

In the Winter (November-March) we move from Greenlake to a location nearby that we can hold classes indoors (ie the Wallingford Boys and Girls Club). In the Spring/Summer, we hold classes at Greenlake, rain or shine - but use plenty of environmental cover. And amazingly, class time is typically dry and pleasant, even here in Seattle.

I would like to come to a Stroller Strides class but I am not sure that I want to join...

No problem, your first class is always FREE!
